Just Another Day

John woke with a wet bed and a snotty nose, but his bum looks a little better. Also applied new cream to his g-tube.

Had to change his central line dressing as it was pulled too close to the entry point. Sure hope it wasn't that way long and that nothing bacterial got to it.

Maci was sitting up by herself for long periods yesterday. She still can't pull into a sitting position on her own but is probably not far from it. Her cough seems to be a little better - but still there. Her Saline County caseworker is coming today.

Both babies were great yesterday. Mark stayed upstairs with them for a long while in the morning and let me work on the basement. Surely between husband, kids and dogs too I'm the most blessed woman I know. Thank you Lord for such a wonderful family.

Resemblences are Scary

Took the babies out to St. Paul's yesterday, Amanda held Maci for me. Maci of course growled part way through the sermon and I've not gotten enough sleep to not giggle. But we are settling in well with Maci and she with us.

Bonnie thinks she looks like me - I told her the scariest part is that she acts like me. Many are worried that we will be heartbroken if she's placed some where else - and we will be - but we keep praying for her best and know that God will carry us through whatever that may be.

Ordered all the stuff to switch to cloth diapers, should be interesting, mostly we're hoping that it will be better on John's bum.

Church Babies

The babies did great in church. John slept in his chair while I held Maci and Maci played in hers while I held John. My biggest worry and it went wonderfully, thank God.

Thursday while packing for St. Louis Maci was inconsolable. Once in the jeep she slept all the way to St. Louis, including through a Walmart stop. After we got her out at the motel and talked and played with her awhile she was much better.

John's appointment on Friday went very well, he's 15 pounds 2 ounces, 24 1/2 inches long and gets to start yellow veggies this month. His bilirubin is creeping up so we are to be a bit more aggressive with his feeds - increasing with each change of poop from green to yellow.

Having Maci at the hospital was fun. The nurses spoiled her and she was a delight as always.
